Self Care that helped me in Menopause
If this is your first time reading my blog, welcome. I’m Caroline, a menopause coach for life, and within the workplace.
I wanted to talk about self care during the menopause today, and also what it’s not (spoiler alert, that new £120 face cream, though it is fun).
Menopause happens when you are busy living your life, and it doesn’t happen in isolation.
It happens while women are in their career stride, raising families, caring for parents, managing households, and showing up every day with quiet resilience.
It happens in meeting rooms and kitchens, during deadlines and school runs, in moments both visible and unseen.
Menopause is a natural transition, but the changes it brings can feel anything but simple. Fluctuating hormones can affect energy, sleep, focus, confidence, and emotional regulation. For women who are used to being capable, dependable, and “the strong one,” this can feel deeply unsettling. And yet, it’s still something many women feel they have to manage silently.
Self care during menopause isn’t about stepping away from life — it’s about being prioritising ourselves, often for the first time.
This is a new season for us during which we need to read the signals that our bodies are telling us, like fatigue from a restless night, a sudden unexplained wave of exhaustion or sudden anxious thoughts, so we can look after ourselves better.
These are signals we need to read and take note of. They are not signs of weakness to be brushed away and ignored.
Needing to priortise us more does not mean we are less capable. It just means that for now, our bodies are simply asking for some support.
What can you do to take a little more care of yourself? Say no occasionally? Take a walk in the fresh air when you can? Upgrade your bedtime routine to help wind down?
Self care is not about becoming a new you, it is about supporting the women you already are through change, you will find, in time, that small and consistent acts of self care create calm and streadiness so you can move forward.
This is what the 8 week menopause plan will help give you, chat to me today to find our more!
Until next time,
